Abstract
Electric Vehicles (EVs) are considered as the most promising and eco-friendly technology in the modern world. Considering the significance of EVs, many governments have implemented several plans to ban traditional fossil fuel vehicles due to more toxic pollutants which is harmful to the environment. Nowadays in transportation sectors, most of the vehicle users are switching over to Electric Vehicles. Development in this technology makes Electric Vehicle to compete with traditional fuel-powered vehicles. Due to several reason’s such as unavailability of sufficient charging stations and long charging time, makes the Electric Vehicle charging become unreliable and unpopular one. This paper briefly reviews on several key technologies of Battery Monitoring System (BMS). Battery state estimation parameters namely State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), State of Power (SoP) and Depth of Discharge (DoD) are presented. In addition, the various types of batteries and Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles also been reviewed.
